Participation in the CVA Annual National Spelling Bee is completely open to all interested students and schools. Both private and public schools can organize their own local Spelling Bee eliminatories or simply choose their best students and postulate them for the CVA Annual National Spelling Bee. Each school can postulate only one student per category and competing in all categories is not a requisite.
